The Town Planner is under the First Selectman. He is responsible for managing the Planning and Zoning and Inland/Wetlands staff. The planning office provides assistance to the health, engineering and building departments, as well as being responsible for housing and economic development planning.
The Zoning Enforcement Officer/Inland Wetlands Enforcement Officer enforces the zoning regulations and is the administrator of the inland wetlands regulations and coastal site plan decisions on issues of zoning compliance. He/She is supervised by the Town Planner and the Inland Wetlands Commission. He/She also receives technical direction from the Town Engineer and Health Director.
