Guilford Police Department
The Town of Guilford’s Police Department is located at 400 Church Street or Route 77. The Police
Department has an authorized strength of thirty-eight sworn officers, three civilian dispatchers, two
full-time animal control officers, and three clerical personnel. The police department is broken down
into a Field Services Division, and a Support Services Unit. The Field Services Division is responsible
for the Patrol Unit, Dispatchers, the Detective Unit, the School Resource Officer at the Senior High
School, and two DARE Officers that are assigned to the Adams Middle School and the Baldwin Middle
School. The Support Services Division is responsible for the Training Unit, Animal Control Officers,
Crime Prevention, and the Records Unit. The Police Department offers a full range of services to our
community including:
· House checks while residents are away on vacation
· Crime Prevention checks for your home or business
· Fingerprinting for permits or applications
· Child car seat installations
· Civilian Police Academy classes usually held in the winter months

Guilford Fire Department

"The mission of the Guilford Fire Department is to provide the highest quality fire protection,
emergency medical services, fire prevention, safety education, community services, mitigation of
emergency and non-emergency incidents for the citizens and visitors to the town of Guilford. Our
service delivery is enhanced through training, education, planning, and teamwork. We will safely achieve
our mission while remaining fiscally responsible throughout the effective and proficient use of all
resources."
Guilford Fir
Guilford’s Fire Department provides the residents and visitors to the Town of Guilford with a range of
services such as: fire fighting, emergency medical care, water and ice rescue, commercial and industrial
fire inspections, and public fire education activities.
Established in 1852, the Guilford Fire Department is a Class 4 Fire Department and is staffed by 80
volunteer firefighters and 20 career firefighters, and two clerical personnel. Guilford's fire protection is
provided through a combination system of career and volunteer personnel. The organization derives its
strength from a diverse group of individuals. These dedicated individuals are responsible for the
protection of life and property within the town of Guilford. These talented firefighters respond from
five strategically located fire stations to over 3,000 emergencies a year. The Fire Department promotes
health and wellness programs with complete physical exams as required by OSHA and the National
Fire Protection Association's 1500 Standard on Firefighter Health and Safety.
