1. Public hearing to obtain comment on amending the following ordinances:
Amending Chapter 247, Article VII – Elderly Tax Relief Program and
Amending the Voting District Ordinance to change the District IV polling
location from the North Guilford Firehouse to Melissa Jones School.
2. Approval of minutes:
2.1 Minutes of September 15, 2008 – Regular Meeting
2.2 Minutes of September 23, 2008 – Special Meeting
3. Public Forum (limited to 2 minutes regarding agenda items)
4. Town Engineer (Jim Portley):
4.1 Discuss and take possible action on request for bond reduction for
Crooked Hill Road in the Northerly Heights Subdivision.
5. Discuss and take possible action to approve a resolution authorizing the first Selectman to make, execute and approve on behalf of the town all contracts and amendments related to a Grant Contract with the State of Connecticut Department of Social Services and to also approve the Nondiscrimination Certification.
6. Remove from table and take possible action on request from an individual to purchase a 20-year old sander motor no longer being used from the town for $50.
7. Consider and take possible action on Amending Chapter 247, Article VII -
Elderly Tax Relief Program as a result of the public hearing.
8. Discuss and take possible action on Amending the Voting District Ordinance
to change the District IV polling location from the North Guilford Firehouse
to Melissa Jones School as a result of the public hearing.
9. Consider and take possible action on proclamation honoring Dr. Karen Christensen for her 20 years of service to the Shoreline Outdoor Education Center.
10. Appointments and Resignations:
10.1 Act on resignation received from Gerard Denza from the Conservation Commission.
10.2 Act on resignation received from Job Day from the Agricultural
Commission.
10.3 Act on reappointment of Jim Lamb to the Guilford Youth and Family
Services Board for a term to expire September 30, 2012.
10.4 Act on reappointment of Anthony Fappiano to the Board of Ethics for a term to expire July 31, 2012.
10.5 Act on reappointment of Paul Wetteman Jr. to the Agricultural
Commission for a term to expire September 29, 2012.
10.6 Act on recommendation to reappoint Lawrence Leete to the
Board of Fire Commissioners for a second term to begin October 16,
2008 and expire October 16, 2012.
10.7 Act on recommendation to reappoint Michael Dowley to the Youth
and Family Services Board for a term to expire September 30, 2012.
10.8 Act on recommendation to reappoint Edmund Jones to the Guilford
Lakes Golf Course Commission for a term to expire September 30, 2012.
10.9 Act on recommendation to reappoint John Hammarlund to the
Agricultural Commission for a term to expire September 29, 2012.
10.10 Act on recommendation to appoint Deborah Nason to the Economic
Development Commission to fill a vacancy for a term to expire
November 30, 2008.
11. Request for Use of Town Property:
11.1 Act on request from the Guilford Food Bank to place a sign on the
Green advertising its Make a Difference Day Project taking place

11.2 Act on request from the Guilford Art Center to place a sign on the
Green advertising its Artistry on the Shoreline Holiday Sale taking

11.3 Act on request from the Guilford PACT to place a sign on the Green
advertising its Bluegrass BBQ Fundraiser taking place November 8,

11.4 Act on request from the Chamber of Commerce to use the Green
December 5, 2008 for its Holiday Tree Lighting.
